Overview

RoomLooks is a simple inspiration site. We don't require accounts or logins, and we don't run ad-targeting or build personal advertising profiles. This policy explains what information may be processed when you browse the site and what choices you have.

Information We Process

On-Device Storage (Local Storage)

We use your browser's local storage to save favorites and preferences. This data stays on your device and is not intended to be stored in our database as user profiles.

Optional Sync (Keyword-Based)

If you choose to sync favorites across devices, RoomLooks uses a simple keyword system—no email or account required. You receive a randomly generated, memorable keyword (for example, "cozy-lamp-lover-4521") that acts as your sync identifier. You can optionally set a password to protect your keyword; if set, the password is required to access your synced data on any device. To restore your favorites elsewhere, simply enter your keyword (and password if you set one). We store only the keyword, a securely hashed password (if set), your favorited moment IDs, and any collected items or folders you create. No name, email, phone number, or other personal identifiers are collected or required.

Vercel Web Analytics (Cookieless)

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall traffic and site performance (for example, page views and general usage trends). Vercel states that Web Analytics does not use cookies and stores anonymized data for aggregated statistics. Vercel identifies visitor sessions using a hash derived from the incoming request, and the lifespan of a visitor session is not stored permanently (it is automatically discarded after 24 hours).

Basic Operational Data

Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery infrastructure may process basic technical data (for example: IP address, device/browser information, and request timestamps) to serve pages, protect the site, prevent abuse, and keep things reliable.

Affiliate Links

When you click an affiliate link (for example, Amazon), you leave RoomLooks and are subject to the privacy policies of those third-party sites. We may receive aggregate reporting about qualifying purchases made through our links, but we do not receive your name, email address, or full payment details from retailers.

Information We Don't Collect

• We don't require accounts or logins to browse RoomLooks
• We don't ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or home address—even if you use the optional sync feature
• We don't sell personal information
• We don't use third-party advertising cookies to build ad profiles

Third-Party Services

RoomLooks uses service providers to host and operate the site:

• Vercel: Hosting and Web Analytics
• AWS S3 / CloudFront: Image storage and delivery
• Supabase: Database services for site content (not user accounts)
• Amazon Associates: Affiliate links and reporting

Each provider has its own privacy policies that govern how it processes data in connection with its services.

Security

We use HTTPS (TLS) to help protect data in transit between your browser and RoomLooks. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a lightweight inspiration site. We also use reputable hosting and CDN providers (e.g., Vercel and AWS CloudFront) to help keep the site secure.

Your Choices

You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove saved favorites and preferences. If you used the optional sync feature and want your synced data removed from our servers, contact us at hello@roomlooks.com with your keyword. We keep analytics minimal and privacy-focused. If you prefer, you can use your browser's privacy controls to limit website data and scripts.

Children's Privacy

RoomLooks is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
